14,000 Certified Learners

May 2020 by Emma Richards

As lockdown continues, training has slowed a little whilst our partner organisations are busy adapting their courses for distance delivery, enabling them to continue delivering Carbon Literacy and catalysing action on climate change in our socially-distanced world. Some of these courses, however, have already been accredited and are starting to be rolled out, resulting in us being able to share with you that we have now reached 14,000 learners certified as Carbon Literate!

This means that over 28,000 actions have been pledged in communities, businesses, local authorities, schools and universities, across the UK and beyond, helping work towards zero-carbon.

Having distance delivered Carbon Literacy courses is important to maintain momentum in organisations that have been working on Carbon Literacy for a while, as well as to support new organisations who are keen to get to work but, without the face-to-face courses, would otherwise not have access to experiencing the training themselves. The Carbon Literacy Project is supporting organisations in a number of ways as they adapt their courses to this new format, find out more here.
