And just like that, we’ve added another thousand!

19,000 learners are now certified as Carbon Literate. This means that over 38,000 actions have been pledged – in communities, businesses, local authorities, schools and universities, across the UK and beyond – to take meaningful action towards a zero-carbon society.

It’s incredible to think that we started 2021 with 16,000 learners and are now at 19,000. It wasn’t until the 5th year of Carbon Literacy that the three-thousandth learner gained certification, now we’ve achieved the same in only a matter of months – at the halfway point of the year. The rate of acceleration is clear to see, and we can’t wait until we get to share and celebrate the next milestone with you – it’s going to be a big one!
